At Base, we choose our ingredients for a reason. Whether it's an oil that makes a beautiful bar of soap, a clay that adds colour and texture, or an essential oil that gives a product its scent, everything has a purpose.
We focus on high-quality ingredients, thoughtful formulations and products designed for gentle everyday use.
Oils are at the heart of our soapmaking. We use olive oil and coconut oil to create bars that cleanse well, produce a lovely lather and feel good to use.
In our other products, you'll also find ingredients such as cocoa butter, shea butter and sweet almond oil, chosen for the qualities they bring to each formulation.

Natural clays, including pink and green clay, add beautiful earthy colours and a smooth texture to our bars. We also use ingredients such as ground walnut shells and macadamia shells to provide gentle physical exfoliation.

We create our own essential oil blends, combining floral, citrus, herbal and woody notes to make scents inspired by the Australian landscape and the places we love.

Traditional soap is made through a process called saponification.
When oils react with an alkali, they're transformed into soap and glycerin. Glycerin is a natural byproduct of this process and helps attract moisture.
We use the cold-process method to make our bar soaps. Once made, each batch is given time to cure, allowing the bars to become firmer and longer-lasting.
It's a process that takes time and care, but we think the result is worth it.

Our products are vegan and cruelty-free, and our traditional soap bars are made without palm oil.
